Welsh Earns Third Consecutive Hennepin County Wellness by Design Award

Welsh was awarded Hennepin County’s Silver Wellness by Design Award for excellent efforts in promoting workplace wellness. This is the third consecutive year the company has been recognized.
Welsh fosters a workplace culture that supports and promotes health and wellness. The company subsidizes annual participation in the Twin Cities 5K, operates free employee fitness centers, and supports an on-site wellness center that provides chiropractic care and massage therapy. They have also partnered with Nutritional Weight & Wellness to offer nutritional counseling and various seminars for employees.
“The Wellness by Design Award, now in its fifth year, has come to symbolize an organization’s commitment to creating policies, programs and environments that support and encourage employee and student health,” said Lisa Mueller, program manager, Hennepin County Public Health Promotion.
Wellness by Design Award winners have an infrastructure in place providing supportive environments for developing lifelong, healthy behaviors. In 2010, Hennepin County honored 67 worksites and 45 schools for their efforts. Awards are presented in four levels: bronze, silver, gold and platinum.
