Welsh Companies Recognized for Creating Healthy Work Environment

Welsh Companies, a leading full-service commercial real estate company headquartered in the Twin Cities, has been honored with a Gold Wellness by Design Worksite Award from Hennepin County.
Welsh promotes and fosters a worksite culture that supports employees’ health and well-being by providing a wide range of activities, events and educational opportunities for all employees. The company was recognized for providing access to walking paths, a full-service cafeteria, fitness and shower facilities, and for providing health-risk assessments free of charge for employees. Additional services offered include on-site yoga and certified massage.

Sponsored by Hennepin County Human Services and Public Health Department, Wellness by Design Awards are presented to organizations that promote safe and healthy lifestyles. Winning organizations have a wellness infrastructure in place and provide supportive environments for developing lifelong, healthy behaviors. The awards are presented in three levels: gold, silver and bronze. In 2009, Hennepin County honored 60 worksites and 21 schools.
