Highview Hills by Walker selected to Minnesota Physician's 2010 Health Care Architecture Honor Roll
June 29, 2010
Highview Hills by Walker, a project designed by Genesis Architecture and built by Welsh Construction, has been named to Minnesota Physician’s 2010 Health Care Architecture Honor Roll.
The 245,486-square-foot, 153-unit senior living community nestled on just over 6 acres was designed with a continuum of care concept, allowing residents to remain within the community as their care needs change. The building includes 75 independent-living units, 44 assisted-living units, 24 memory-care units, 10 assisted-living care suites and two guest suites. Other amenities include a commercial kitchen with demonstration area, salon, theater, convenience store, fitness center, library, billiards room, craft room, walking paths, rooftop garden and nine-hole putting green.
Minnesota Physician’s 2010 Health Care Architecture Honor Roll recognizes nine outstanding projects completed in the past year. The projects differ in intended uses, but share a focus on efficiency, safety and patient-centered care in addition to environmentally sound design, state-of-the-art technology and continuity of care.
Highview Hills by Walker is owned and operated by Minneapolis-based Walker Methodist, which operates nine other senior living facilities in Minnesota. For more information on Highview Hills, visit www.highviewhills.com.
