WelshInvest, an affiliate of Welsh Property Trust, and RegencyInvest, an affiliate of nationally known hotel owner and operator The Ramkota Companies, purchased the 165,000-square-foot former Days Inn Hotel located at 1901 Killebrew Drive in Bloomington, Minn. in 2008. Welsh Construction and Genesis Architecture were hired to complete a total renovation of the property, which included the expansion of all 211 guest rooms and numerous interior and exterior upgrades. A 16,352-square-foot atrium complete with a splash pad, standard pool and 3,000-square-foot seating area was built-out, in addition to 5,600 square feet of conference space, and a full-service bar and restaurant.
The hotel has been reflagged as a Best Western Premier, and opened February 11, 2011. The hotel is the closest hotel in proximity to the Mall of America®.
