Construction Portfolio

Baker Road Corporate Center comprises two office buildings and space for a third. This redevelopment included the renovation of a 90,000-square-foot multi-tenant building, and the construction of Welsh’s 99,568-square-foot corporate headquarters.  Designed by Genesis Architecture and built by Welsh Construction, Welsh’s headquarters was completed in 2008 and was one of the first in Minnesota to obtain LEED® CS-Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). 

Welsh Construction first demoed the existing 125,000-square-foot structure utilizing a strategic positioning plan to allow demolition and new construction to be performed simultaneously. The concrete and asphalt from the old building were then crushed on-site and reused as underlayment for the parking lots.

The facility features a variety of additional green features, including water efficient plumbing fixtures, energy-efficient light fixtures and sensors, a zero-use CFC-based ventilation system, and low VOC interiors. Shared property amenities include a cafeteria, fitness center and showers, training room, underground parking, and outdoor patio.
